There are days that Mugabe’s party do little else but make fools of themselves. But because they have wrapped themselves in legal protection and then laced the courts with sympathisers, there is not a lot anyone can do about it.
They prove themselves idiots, but that is as far as it goes.
Today, on the internet, I read how Willard Chiwewe, a former ZANU PF governor has been evicted from a farm he seized (from a black farmer) because he is a multiple farm owner which Mugabe has stated is against ZANU PF policy.
The article goes on to say that Chiwewe was issued with an eviction order - and advised to occupy land elsewhere! So the fact that he seized the land and that he is a multiple farm owner doesn’t enter into it, as he is to find alternative land elsewhere!

But, six days ago there was an article on the internet that again points to the Mugabe family as being multiple farm owners themselves.
The Mugabe family owns at least 10 large-scale commercial farms. Mugabe has in the past said that even polygamous men should respect the ‘one family one farm’ policy, which he and his polygamous inner cabal have flagrantly violated.
Earlier this year Mugabe took ministers on a tour of Gushungo Dairy Estates, formerly Foyle Farm which he grabbed from accomplished dairy farmer Ian Webster, to show off the millions of dollars of state-of-the-art equipment he had installed there. But he has kept very quiet about most of his farms, presumably for fear of being exposed as a multiple farm owner.”
So - Mugabe not only has failed to give the seized land to the ‘landless blacks’, but his family owns as much as ten farms.
And - also today - we read about a former ZANU PF chairman dumping thirty families on the Harare-Mutare road with the aid of armed policemen and messenger of court - as the Mugabe party had persuaded the courts to recognise that the families had no authority to be on the farm and were squatting illegally.
What happened to the promise of returning the land to the ‘landless blacks’, when we have one ZANU PF bigwig forcefully removing dozens of families and just dumping them on the side of the road?
“We were evicted as if we are not humans and we have no right to land. We have known the farm as our only home but now we have been made destitute,”” she said.”
So Mugabe has taken the land, has ruined the economy, failed to live up to his own policies and now is happy for his people to throw the ‘landless blacks’ off the land…
And he would have us all believe that the Rhodesian government was an evil thing?
There must come a time when the people realise just who and what Mugabe says he is and what and who he really is are two entirely different things.
He cannot hide behind the spectre of colonialism if he himself is as guilty, if not more guilty, of precisely the same crimes and injustices he says colonialism brought with it.
Land for ‘landless blacks’ mean precisely that - and yet his party members continue to seize land without compensation and asset strip the infrastructure therein, while they strip the mineral wealth elsewhere in the country - all the time loudly crying that the country needs the help of the West to be rebuilt.
Can they not stand for what they publicly hold in disdain, or has that become a political no-no?
Selling a lie is easy when you are a dictator…
