People often ask me, where do I get the strength, the sustained motivation to write about events in my adopted ‘home’ - Zimbabwe.
Simply put - my sustenance is a fury, an anger in my belly.
I watch the news in Zimbabwe with increasing anger. I write about the news in Zimbabwe with increasing anger. I maintain my anti-Mugabe attitude with a controlled, yet uncomfortable fire burning deep within my soul.
Mugabe’s ‘win’ we all know to be fraudulent. We know that he forced the Movement for Democractic Change’s hand by exercising some of the cruellest brutality and killings seen this side of World War Two and the Rwanda/Burundi genocide.

And with the threat of an even bloodier onslaught to come, the MDC did the prudent thing - they pulled out of the election.
Legally, the second round of the Presidential election being held on the 27th of last month was illegal. Flawed deeply according to the statutes of the very document that forms the legal cornerstone of Zimbabwean life.
The Constitution.
According to the prerequisites and writings in that document, in the event that an initial round of the election doesn’t not provide clear winner with 50 percent plus one vote, then there is to be a second round - but this has to be held within 21 days of the first round’s results being released.
In the event that the 21 day stipulation cannot be met, then the winner of the first round is to be declared the winner. Any second round enacted after the 21 day stipulation does not count and should be disregarded.
Now I know that I have simplified the legal word within the Constitution - but this is what it says. This is not ‘pie in the sky’ stuff by yours truly.
And when (and if) someone in Mugabe’s inner sanctum becomes aware of the legal ramifications, Mugabe will simply sign the amendment into law and have at ratified retrospectively so that the amendment becomes law before the end of the sid 21 day stipulation.
Hell! Anyone can be President at this rate. Even a self-serving, egotistical megalomaniac with designs on power for the rest of his living days.
And this is not necessarily an escape clause dreamed up to protect himself from any possible prosecution in The Hague.
This is a man crazed by the all out need for power. A man who is not happy unless he is in full control.
A man with so much want for the high of holding a position of power. A man who has become deranged in his need for dominance over anyone, somebody.
If we were to apply the laws of Zimbabwe, unammended by Mugabe now or it the future, the correct and elected President of Zimbabwe - is Morgan Richard Tsvangirai.
By popular mandate - by democratic vote - by application of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
Mugabe knows it. You and I know it – but yet the free and democratic world sits by and allows him to commit crime upon crime, using the vaunted office of President – an office he never was fit to occupy from Day One.
